DIY hair moisturizer is an extra hair care step that will provide some additional moisture, nourishment and protection to your hair. It is a very effective product, yet quite simple to make and use.

What makes this DIY hair moisturizer so great for your hair are the high-quality natural ingredients, all capable of treating a wide range of hair problems.

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons shea butter
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 3 teaspoons sweet almond oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoon jojoba oil
  • 2 large teaspoons aloe vera gel
  • Essential oils

How to make hair moisturizer?

Melt the shea butter and coconut oil in a double boiler. Once completely liquid, remove from the heat and mix in the rest of the ingredients. Leave the essential oils for the end. Mix everything well and let it cool down.

Once your mixture turns opaque, stir it well and transfer your brand new DIY hair moisturizer to a clean glass container.

Use it every time after you wash your hair, while your hair is still slightly damp. Just apply a small amount of the hair moisturizer to the length of your hair, especially to the ends. Don’t use too much of it or it can make your hair look dirty.

You can keep your DIY hair moisturizer at room temperature. The shelf life depends on the shelf life of the ingredients you’ve used, so make sure to check that before you start making it.
