Conditioning the hair is as important as oiling and shampooing because the styling products such as hot iron and blow dryers damage the hair, and a natural hair conditioner helps in repairing the damage. Nourishing hair conditioners prevent hair fall problems by providing the essential vitamins and proteins to the hair follicles. In addition, hair conditioners add a natural shine and gloss to the traces and prevent dryness and frizziness. We all crave for a homemade herbal solution to our hair damage. So, here is a list of homemade conditioning treatments that will help keep your hair healthy and hydrated.

1.Egg and Virgin Coconut Oil Hair Conditioner

Simply whisk 2-3 eggs whole with 3 tablespoons of Virgin coconut oil (this one’s the best variety) and apply on to your scalp. Leave the homemade conditioner for half an hour after which wash off with ample cold water.

2.Shea Butter Hair Conditioner

Take 1 tablespoon of shea butter,2 tablespoons of coconut oil,1 teaspoon of argan oil and 2-3 drops of an essential oil of your choice (Optional).Warm the coconut oil and shea butter together until you get a melted mixture.To this, add the argan oil and whip all the ingredients until they are well combined.Optionally, you can add a couple of drops of an essential oil of your choice.Start applying the mixture to your hair, working it into the roots and down to the tips of your hair.Once your hair is fully covered, let the mixture sit for about 30 minutes.Proceed to wash your hair with cool water and mild sulfate-free shampoo. Finish with conditioner.

3.Fenugreek and Coconut Oil Hair Conditioner

Take some coconut oil and boil a handful of fenugreek seeds in it. Massage your scalp and hair with the mixture. Leave it on for a few hours, preferably overnight. Shampoo your hair. This treatment helps to keep hair soft, make your hair strong and healthy. However, avoid this conditioning treatment if you have oily scalp.

4.Honey and Olive Oil Hair Conditioner

Take 2 tablespoons of  honey and  4 tablespoons of olive oil.In a bowl, combine the honey and olive oil until you get a smooth mixture.Divide your hair into four sections and start applying the mixture to it.Once your hair is fully covered in the honey-oil mixture, cover it with a shower cap.Leave the mask in for about 30 minutes and then proceed to wash your hair.Rinse the mask out with a mild sulfate-free shampoo and finish with regular conditioner.

5.Curd and Virgin Olive Oil Hair Conditioner 

Mix  adequate amount of curd and virgin olive oil, massage on your hair. Leave the homemade hair mask on for half an hour and wash off with plain cold water. It helps a great deal with damaged hair and prevents split ends.

6.Aloe Vera and Banana Hair Conditioner

Take 1 fresh aloe vera leaf (filled with gel) and 2 medium-sized bananas.Scoop out the pulp from the aloe vera leaf.Peel and cut the bananas.Transfer the aloe vera pulp and bananas to a blender.Blend the mixture thoroughly, leaving no lumps.Shampoo your hair and let it air dry.Start applying the mixture with a hair coloring brush.Get the mixture deep into your roots and coat your entire scalp and all your hair.Put your hair up in a loose bun and cover it with a shower cap.Leave it on for 2 hours.Wash your hair with cold water and shampoo it thoroughly.

7.Egg and Yoghurt Hair Conditioner

Mix a raw egg with 3 to 4 tablespoons of yoghurt. Add a spoon of the juice of a freshly squeezed lemon. Mix well. Apply on hair. Wait for at least 40 minutes. Shampoo. This conditioner can be referred to as a combination of a ‘glosser’ and a ‘reconstructor’.

8.Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Conditioner

Take 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and 1 cup of water. In a jug, dilute the apple cider vinegar with one cup of water.Set this aside and proceed to wash your hair with cool water and a mild sulfate-free shampoo.Condition your hair and then pour the apple cider vinegar rinse through your wet hair.Massage it into your scalp and ensure that it is evenly spread throughout your hair.It is recommended to leave the rinse in your hair, but you can proceed to finish your hair wash with a final cool water rinse.
